We have decided to share our engagement story from each of our perspectives along with some photos from that day. First I'll give you my version and then Annie will tell you how it really happened.
My Version: I asked Annie to marry me and she said yes.
Annie's Version: It was a normal Wednesday afternoon, or so I thought. I was returning home after doing the grocery shopping and as I approached the house, I noticed a piece of paper taped haphazardly to the front door. The paper was a big stop sign, with the words "Possible Kissing Ahead, Please Take One Before Continuing" overlaying a big arrow pointing toward a box of Eclipse gum.
The sign was a pretty good giveaway that something was going on. As I opened the door, with both arms full of groceries, I was immediately struck by the heat given off from the 63 candles burning throughout the kitchen and living room. I didn't get more than one step into the house, before I was approached by Scott, all decked out in his tuxedo.
I think I stopped in my tracks and just stood there. He had to close the door and help me put the bags down. He took a knee and asked THE question. My response was "Who did you vote for?", which might sound like an odd response, but over the last 5 years he has refused to share his voting preferences and I thought I had pretty good leverage. As a result, I got the ring, but no answer.
